Certis to host CPD ‘Slug Trail’ at Cereals

Growers, spray operators and advisors visiting the Certis stand at the Cereals event will have the opportunity to take part the ‘Slug Trail’ to earn two NRoSO and one BASIS point.

Growers, spray operators and advisors visiting the Certis stand at the Cereals event will have the opportunity to take part the ‘Slug Trail’ to earn two NRoSO and one BASIS point.

Organised in conjunction with the water companies stand, Water UK, and fellow member of the Metaldehyde Stewardship Group (MSG), De Sangosse, it provides an ideal opportunity to learn more about strategies for slug control as the armoury becomes more limited.

“Visitors to the Certis stand can also discuss the alternative molluscicide ferric phosphate (Sluxx and Derrex), and ask questions of industry specialists,” says Inez Cornell, Certis’ arable crops Product Manager.

“Metaldehyde remains a mainstay of slug control, but ferric phosphate has proven its equal in terms of efficacy and crop protection.

“With Certis supplying both these actives to market, we are in the unique position to advise on an integrated approach and help secure a future for metaldehyde,” comments Inez.

To earn the CPD (continuous professional development) points at the event, BASIS and NRoSO qualified members are required to visit the three stands, Certis (D-432-4),  Water UK (C-439-4) and De Sangosse (C-433-4), read the available literature and talk to stand representatives in order to complete a short questionnaire.

The Certis stand is located just off the main thoroughfare, en route to the Sprays and Sprayers arena (on the corner of the Central Avenue, on fourth Avenue, stand number D-432-4).
